BEST 5 (ROOFTOP & SUNSET) BARS IN LISBON

One of my favorite things about Lisbon is for sure that you can see the sun rise and set from so many places around the city. Thus, I wanted to share my favorite rooftop/ sunset bars in Lisbon with you - make sure to check them out!

Very often watching the sunset at one of my recommended places was one of the highlights of my day as the sunset is just so breathtaking in Lisbon! Often there are live DJs playing nice tunes and you can just dance while the sun says goodbye. I really loved the whole atmosphere of these places and I am sure there is a „perfect“ bar for everybody in my list!

My favorite 5 (rooftop & sunset) bars in Lisbon:

• Topo
  Topo has actually two locations, one at Martim Moniz and one at Chiado. Although both are really cool spots, I would recommend the one at Martim Moniz even more. You have a breathtaking view over the city e.g also the castle and can enjoy some nice drinks and also food at the outside rooftop terrace. The only thing you should keep in mind is that the sunset is not the best from there, so you could maybe watch it somewhere else and then head to Topo afterwards.

• Secret garden 
  This place was actually recommended by a friend and in the beginning we really could not find the secret garden - so the name is actually accurate ;) The next time we were able to find the entrance which is basically at the „Miradouro da Senhora do Monte“. The place has a really chilled cool vibe and there are many spots outside available from which you can enjoy a breathtaking sunset. After the sun sets there is often a DJ playing some nice music, so you should really not miss this cool place!

• Toca da Raposa
  This is actually the only bar on my recommendation list without a rooftop or outside area. However, I really like the place as the interior is just really tasty and the cocktails were very exotic and tasty. The menu is actually full of animal paintings as the not so usual cocktails are all named after an animal. But don’t worry, the staff is super friendly in figuring out which cocktail could be the one for you.

• Quiosque Ribeira das Naus
  One of the most popular places in town can of course also be missed in my bar recommendations. Actually you can also already enjoy the view on the Tejo and the bridge during the day or basically spend the whole day in their comfortable sun chairs. The prices are not the cheapest, but defiantly worth the view, especially for sunset. There is also often a live DJ and thus the place can get really busy in the evening and around sunset. If you can’t get a spot you can also always just get a drink there and take it to go as the whole are is just super lovely for enjoying an amazing sunset. 

• The V Rooftop Bar
  We enjoyed a special sunset in this rather exclusive rooftop bar before we went to birthday dinner in the nearby Koppu Ramen. The view over Lisbon is nice, although you can not directly see the sun set over the river. Still, we really liked the high-quality cocktails and IPA selection. You can also enjoy some snacks and bites there, so it is the perfect aperitvo place before you head for dinner.
