COMPLETE VEGAN FOOD & TRAVEL GUIDE TO NUSA LEMBONGAN

Honestly, I really didn’t expect Nusa Lembongan to be that beautiful. I visited the small island from Nusa Penida for the first time only for a day and immediately knew that I want to spend more time on this magical place. The calm vibe of the tiny island is so relaxing and it is often overseen from tourists as everybody just heads to the bigger sister island, Nusa Penida, for the “Instagram” pictures, while Nusa Lembongan is left behind.

I feel like spending more than a day in Nusa Lembongan is still kind of a “secret” tip and thus wanted to share all of my favorite spots (and there are so many!) on the beautiful island. As I already knew, I came back to Nusa Lembongan, for a long weekend trip from Canggu (the ferry ride is only 30 minutes) and was able to discover more of the island’s beauty. Make sure to check out my recommendations and spend an amazing time in beautiful Nusa Lembongan.

Lots of love,
Magda

My favorite food & coffee spots in nusa lembongan

  • Beach Cafe at Lago
My absolute favorite spot in Nusa Lembongan is for sure the cute little beach cafe at lago beach. Since I discovered it during my first trip to the island, I always came back. Their breakfast is really delicious (especially the smoothie bowl and gluten-free waffles) and the location just a dream come true: directly at the hidden and super chill beach.

  • The Pontoon at Lago
The floating bar is also located next to lago beach and invites you to enjoy a beautiful sunset drink in the middle of the water. We were picked up from the beach and stayed for the sunset at Pontoon. I would recommend to come even earlier as you can jump into the crystal clear water and relax as well ideally on the platform.

You’re really in the middle of the ocean floating at the Pontoon sunset bar, a really cool experience!

  • Bali Eco Deli
After we went on an amazing snorkeling trip (read more about it in my recommendations what to do in Nusa Lembongan), we were super hungry! We decided to have late lunch at the Bali Eco Deli and were not disappointed. The organic food menu is well selected and everything was fresh, healthy and delicious. I also had a smoothie with local seaweed & it was super tasty.

  • Mushroom Espresso
If you are looking for the best coffee in Nusa Lembongan, you got to try Mushroom Espresso! Their place offers also some breakfast options (we had the avocado toast) and invites you to chill in one of their hammocks. We also came back before taking the boat back to Bali mainland as it is located directly next to the mushroom beach.

  • Tigerlillys Beach Shack
This newly opened spot serves really delicious breakfast - directly at the beach! The vibe is a bit boho and prices a bit higher than in the traditional restaurants. We especially enjoyed the smoothie chia bowl and the bagel for a breakfast at the beach - can it get any better?

  • Ohana's
If you’re looking for a nice place to chill and enjoy the day, Ohana's beach club is the place for you. You can enjoy delicious food, sip on refreshing cocktails and listen to good music. There was even a bonfire for sunset and on Sundays they have DJ’s playing. Will come back for sure!

  • HORISON HILLS bar & resto
Located above Lembongan town, this restaurant offers a beautiful view and wide range of food options. We really enjoyed the authentic (and really cheap) food as well as their juices especially the (vegan) curry and mango juice. There was also live music so the vibe & atmosphere was really nice!

  • Ginger & Jamu

  • Ombak Zero Waste Cafe

  • The Little Coconut

  • Kayu Lembongan

  • Alponte Ristorante

  • Cloudland Bar Lembongan

what to do in nusa lembongan

  • Take a dip and relax at the beach
The second you will step food on Nusa Lembongan (most likely mushroom bay), you arrive on the beach. It’s incredible how beautiful and clear the sea on the island is, so obviously you should take some time to rewind, relax and enjoy the amazing beaches on the island. My favorite one’s are: dream beach and lago beach.

  • Pamper yourself to a spa treatment
Dear friends gifted me a voucher for a treatment at Spring spa before coming to Asia (so so so kind, right?). They just opened a branch on the island and so I booked a vegan facial treatment (as this is something I wouldn’t do just anywhere) and it was just so amazing. Starting with a food bath, the facial treatment including multiple creams and procedures and a massage in a beautiful location with a breathtaking view - I felt so relaxed and my skin super smooth afterwards. The spa is not the cheapest (the face treatment was around 35€), but I would highly recommend you to treat yourself to this experience, which you will most likely never forget!

  • Enjoy the delicious food spots
Nusa Lembongan is a heaven come true for all (vegan) foodies! There are so many little cute restaurants and coffee shops waiting for you to be discovered. I summarized my favorite places in the dedicated food & coffee spot section above. If there is one place you should really not miss, then it is for sure my fav place, the beach cafe at lago with their delicious smoothie bowl!

  • Check out the beachclubs
You can obviously enjoy the beautiful beaches in Nusa Lembongan simply with a towel, however I would highly recommend you to check some of the amazing beach clubs on the island. I especially liked Ohana's as well as Dream Beach Huts. You can simply go to the latter one, order sth. and then spend your time at their breathtaking panorama pool (see pictures).

  • Go on a snorkeling tour
During my second time on Nusa Lembongan (and for sure not last), we went on one of the most beautiful snorkeling trips I’ve ever done. Some of my (almost local) friends recommended the tour of “mangrove stop” to me and we were not disappointed. We texted the owners beforehand to confirm our tour and the second we arrived were able to go on the tour. We first did the mangrove tour (which was nice but not too special) and then were brought out for the snorkeling experience. We floated for around an hour, there were so many beautiful fish and there was no one else except us (a huge difference to snorkeling at the Gili islands where you are one of so many tourists). I highly recommend this unique snorkeling experience to you!
