MY FAVORITE 5 GELATO/ ICE CREAM SPOTS IN VIENNA
If you want to make me really happy give me really good gelato. All year round. Yes also in January - it’s as easy as that 😂
Somehow ice cream/ gelato starts a reaction in my brain and sends out a lot of happiness hormones, so believe me when I say that ice cream really makes me happy 😂
So it was more than time to share my fav gelato hotspots in Vienna (all unpaid of course, I wish I would get sponsored ice cream, but actually maybe it’s better that I don’t 😂):
1. Gelateria La Romana: The delicious gelateria originally from Milan always has a line in front - totally understandable as they not only serve amazing gelato (with liquid white or dark chocolate in the cone!), but also waffles (with gelato), tasty frozen desserts and much more 😍
Location: Stiftgasse 15-17, 1070 Wien
2. Gelato Carlo: My ultimate go-to gelato place in my hood, but also if you don't live in the area of the 8th district, make sure to come by and take the pistachio ice cream, it’s so so so good - and I am super picky when it comes to pistachio ice cream 😂
Location: Hamerlingpl. 2, 1080 Wien
3. Schelato: Another great gelato (or schelato if you pronounce it the “Austrian way” haha) place where you can also choose to get half half of a flavor, which we forgot back then and thus gut this massive ice cream - but I was not mad I must say 😉
Location: Lerchenfelder Str. 34, 1080 Wien (there are several locations also in 1040 and 1100)
4. Vanella Bar de Gelato: This, at least for me, “secret” spot is especially great for it’s wide selection of special gelato and vegan ice cream such as apricot - muscat, and wine with ice cream can only be a great combination right? 🥳
Location: Nußdorfer Str. 47, 1090 Wien
5. Veganista Ice Cream: The (vegan) ice cream recommendation list would not be complete with the classic Veganista ice cream. Only recently we enjoyed a whole box - it’s just so so so good, also for non vegans 😉
Location: Neustiftgasse 23, 1070 Wien (there are several locations also in 1e.g. 1030, 1050, 1060 & 1090)
