FAVORITE (VEGAN) 5 DINNER SPOTS IN LISBON
When coming to Lisbon, the vast dinner options can be a bit overwhelming at first, as there are just a lot of traditional and international restaurants across the town. After I spent some time in Lisbon, I found my favorite dinner places, which I am more than happy to share with you.
I saved all the places I tried out and recommend on Google Maps so you can easily save the list for your trip. Check out the list here.
Also, I made an Instagram guide with my favorite places for (vegan) dinner in Lisbon You can find the Instagram guide here.
When looking at my top five dinner options in Lisbon, you might notice that only one place is actually serving Portuguese food. That was only one thing I loved about Lisbon, the huge selection of really authentic and delicious International, especially asian restaurants. If you are also a lover of the Chinese, Italien, Indian and Japanese cuisine, my guide it perfect for you. Of course, I did also include my favorite local Portuguese place, which should not be missed on your trip to Lisbon.
Let me know how you liked my recommendations in case you are going to Lisbon and if you have any more suggestions which I should try
Lots of love,
Magda
My favorite (vegan) dinner places in Lisbon:
Panda Cantina
This is my all-time favorite place in Lisbon for lunch and dinner. My friends already started making fun of me as I wanted (and did go haha) several times per week to „Panda“. Jokes aside, the asian ramen place is AMAZING. They basically just offer one meal (which is a quality sign in my option), namely the Chinese ramen soup. You can then choose if you want to enjoy you ramen with tofu or meat and can add extras such as even more tofu (of course I did that haha) and extra handmade noodles (yup also did that). There are actually two branches one near Rossio (which we always went to) and one in Principe Real. The one we visited most of the time, in Rossio, always had a line in front, so don’t go when you are already super hangry ;) The waiting time was then actually always ok as you have to put yourself on the waiting list and then can also walk around a bit. Apparently the one in Principe Real is less busy, but for us the one near Rossio was always just more convenient
Valdo Gatti Pizza Bio
I have to admit that I am just obsessed with Neapolitan pizza, especially when the dough is super fluffy and only high-quality. ingredients added. That’s why we visited the organic pizza place Valdo Gatti several times (potentially once per week haha). I loved the wide selection of vegetarian and vegan pizzas and you can even build your own pizza, all for a very fair price. As this place is really popular, you need to enter a virtual waiting line in order to get a table. That’s, however, not too bad as you can just grab an aperitivo in the lively Bairro Alto until your spot is ready (you get a notification on your phone).
Kerala
This authentic south Indian place was recommended to us by locals and we were not disappointed! We had some kind of vegan curry which was very delicious and full of spices. I even loved the massive dosai more as it was just really tasty with the side dips and stuffed with potatoes. If you are craving really decent Indian food for a fair price this is the place you should go to!
Estrela de Bica
Local friends recommended us this lovely Portuguese restaurant and we loved it! The menu changes very often and although there are many meat and fish options available, the owner is more than happy to adapt the menu to your desires. We enjoyed a special evening there eating our way through many different Portuguese tapas accompanied by delicious wine and summed up with a super tasty dessert. If you want to go for a special, non-touristy Portuguese dinner, then you should definitely visit Estrela da Bica.
Koppu Ramen
Since I enjoyed really good authentic Ramen back in Toronto, I have been craving this Japanese soup a lot in the last years. That’s also why I created a vegan miso ramen recipe, but to be honest the ramen at Koppu can not be beaten. We went several times and loved not only the vegan miso ramen, but also the baos with tofu, the vegan dumplings and the mango mochis. Another thing we loved about this place was that you are actually able to reserve a table (which is quite rare in Lisbon).
